Selection ratio: Problem with "Same as image"

Post by helmut »

When using a selection ratio which is same as image (Edit > Selection Ratio > Same as image or key 'D'), and then swapping selection ratio by pressing Tab key, the ratio will not swap. Instead, the selection just grows. (Bug)

Swap width/height selection ratio

Post by efxgfx »

The problem occurs also when you have a custom selection ratio set and want to switch width and height around. I teach others in the use of XnView so I had to find a workaround. One way is to create a custom selectin SIZE that is the opposite orientation (vertical) from the custom selection RATIO (horizontal).

Because not everybody tinkers with a program's settings, I preset settings in my friends' XnView installation by including a copy of xnview.ini where userselratioX and userselratioY and selectionwidth selectionheight are set.

When choosing a HORIZONTAL selection ratio, we choose the custom selection ratio. When choosing a VERTICAL selection ratio of the same ratio, we choose the custom selection size.

At least until the next version...
