Different sort order for browser and viewer

I don't think it is useful to have one sort order for browser and another one for viewer. I think these should be unified.

If people still thinks the separation is useful, one new checkbox at Options will be welcome! In Options -> Viewer -> File list -> "use same order from browser"

BTW, browser now have "Name (numeric)" order, but viewer doesn't.

I strongly agree. Here's some pieces of an old post of the classic newsgroup on this topic with some suggestions:

I strongly concurr with this request. The current relationship between the sequence of images in the browser and the sequence of images in the viewer is a bit confusing.

I think, one reason for the confusion is the fact that XnView has a sort order for images in the browser and another sort order for the sequence of images in the viewer. To reduce the confusion, the internal list should have the same order as the browser.

In XnView 1.57 there will be options to set the (sort) order for the sequence of images in the viewer. This gives more flexibility, though this will not reduce the confusion that novice users have. By default, the order in the viewer should match (and follow) the order in the browser.

Pierre: Some action should be taken here.

a.) Either a new option:
Tools->View->Sort directory/File list:
[ ] Use sort order of browser

or
b.) use the available option for this this
(x) No sort

and rename it to
(x) No sort, use order of browser
to make it clear.

As written above, "Use order of browser" should be default.

Same order is less confusing, why would you even want a differnt order or an option button for it?
