Feature request... and comments
Hi.
Great program! I was wondering if you would please implement the following feature:
1. Preserve alpha channel when creating a contact sheet.
Comments/Questions:
1. When I scroll the mouse wheel, the program keeps switching between the Viewer and Browser. How do I get this to stop? I want it to switch to the next image.
2. How do I change the background color behind an image that uses the alpha channel?
3. Version 1.8 doesn't seem to recognize the alpha channel of PNG images generated using POV-Ray. However, version 1.5 did.
Thanks!
Shark

I wish to concatenate images in order to create sprites for video games, but require that the alpha channel be preserved.xnview wrote:Why?Shark wrote:1. Preserve alpha channel when creating a contact sheet.
I wasn't able to get this to work unless I hold the mouse wheel in the pressed position while I scroll. Otherwise, it always switches between the Viewer and the Browser and switches to the next/previous image. My finger gets tired from holding down the mouse wheel, so I'd like it to only switch to the next/previous image.xnview wrote:options/View/Keyboard1. Will do this today or tomorrow.xnview wrote:no 1.8 can load alpha channel, perhaps you could send me a sample?3. Version 1.8 doesn't seem to recognize the alpha channel of PNG images generated using POV-Ray. However, version 1.5 did.
I uploaded an example of an POV-Ray- generated PNG image with an alpha channel.

I have no problem to view this picture, and the mask too.Shark wrote:I uploaded an example of an POV-Ray- generated PNG image with an alpha channel.

Pierre.
When checking the 'Alpha' and 'Transparency' options in the Options>Read>Png menu, the background shows up as black for images generated in POV-Ray, and white for images edited in PSP 4. I assumed that a white background meant that transparency was working properly, and a black background meant it wasn't.
No please uncheck these optionsSharkD wrote:When checking the 'Alpha' and 'Transparency' options in the Options>Read>Png menu, the background shows up as black for images generated in POV-Ray, and white for images edited in PSP 4.
