I use Xnview as a viewer for pictures that I have taken with my digital camera. I images are usually way too large to view in on screen without scrolling, I usually press </> to make them fit into the window.
However, on *some* computers, this setting won't stick. i.e., I'll make one picture smaller, then go to the next picture and I'll have to do it all over again to make it smaller.
Even cooler, is there a way that I could make "fit image to window" the default? So when I opened the picture up I wouldn't have to make it look smaller to begin with?
I tried using the Search feature, and Help in the program, but couldn't find anything.
how can I make "fit image in window" *stick*...

Possibly you have used the wrong setting:
There are two settings for "Auto image size", a permanent one and a temporary one:
The setting 'Auto image size' in the options (Tools>Options, category "View") is valid for all images opened and is permanent, whereas the setting in the menu 'View->Auto Image size' applies for the current image, only.
