Settings - general - add Startup tab

Post by user0 »

XnViewMP 1.5.2 64bit
Windows11 (22H2), display resolution 3840x2160, win scaling 150%

Settings - general
General tab (as few others) is overwhelmed with settings that can be split or grouped.

Suggestion
settings_ui_startup.png
  • add Startup tab
    - move here all related items from General tab
    - bring more clarity by adding "Start with file" and "Start w/o file" groups
  • rework None option
"Directory none" does not work with "Restore last selected filename" option
its better to rework into Directory into checkbox and remove None option (indentation can be flatter though)
  • rename
    • Restore last selected filename
      because:
      - its not "restore" and not "filename", its "(re)select" and "file"
      - "last selected" can be omitted as its obvious that you cannot select file that was selected few iterations ago
      - need to avoid tautology

so, few options from most to least favorable:
      1) Remember selected file (or Memorize as more modern analog)
      2) Select last selected file
      3) Restore last file selection
