Can XnView skip specific files?
I have a 'temp' folder that I drag stuff into so I can sort it later. When I use XnView to view images in that folder and it comes upon a text file it shows the text file and I can't use the mouse wheel to scroll to the next image. Is there a way I can get XnView to ignore certain files such as *.txt? I've been searching the setting and the forum but can't find that option.

Yes, with 1.5.5. I can advance forward past a text file with the space bar to view the following photo but I can't use the arrow keys or the mouse wheel to do the same. I had tried XnView a couple of years ago and don't remember having this issue. I recently started using it again but found this snag in my workflow. I believe I must have something set wrong but can't figure out what it is.

Have you reviewed your Tools > Settings > Interface > Keyboard and Mouse settings?

Thank you for your help here. Yes, I have tried those settings. I just checked them again and the up/down arrows as well as the scroll wheel are set to previous/next file. It's just that it gets stuck when it comes to a text file, only a space bar will allow it to proceed to the next file.
Is there a way to tell XnView not to process text files; have in not recognize *.txt or *.doc?

You can disable Text file in 'Settings>File list>Custom filter'

Yes! That's it!! Thank you!!
I unchecked the text boxes and that mostly worked. One text file was still showing up so I entered "txt" and "doc" and "docx" in the 'Exclude' row and now it's perfect!
