Unlike with XnView Classic, left-click doesn't resize the selection rectangle when you have left-click set to "Move picture" on both Windows and Linux.
Video demonstration using the live ISO of Hiren's BootCD PE (that way you can easily verify and reproduce the bug, especially combined with Ventoy for super-easy juggling of multiple ISOs):
[v1.5.5] Unlike XnView Classic, left-click doesn't resize selection rectangle when set to "Move picture"

no need to split it into 2 posts:
[v1.5.5] Unlike XnView Classic, left-click doesn't resize selection rectangle when set to "Move picture" (current post)
[v1.5.5] Unlike XnView Classic, left-click doesn't deselect when set to "Move picture"
when you swap select/move functionality between left/right buttons - functionlity itself should not change (except RMB still invoking context menu)
eg once swapped in Classic version, you cannot move picture with active selection anymore - it just deselects, there is no such issue in MP, so:
ps. no need to make 5mins video for 10sec issue, you can trim video with something like LosslessCut
