jpeg lossless transformation prevw. picture and last setting

Post by loth »

hi all,

first:
i moved to a new flat and are not connected to the holy internet. (for now)
so i cannot research the forum for articles which may be doublettes of my following posts.
i'm commiting the following posts from a place, where i can't research the forum as long as i could do from home :-)
so please excuse any "doublettes", if so.

the "jpeg lossless transformation"-window chould have a small preview picture.

also, you could add a checkbox for remembering the last choosen rotate, so, if checked, the user only has to press enter to rotate the picture (if it is the degree, he like to)

Hum, preview in "jpeg lossless transformation", is it really needed. Rotation are simple operation??

Dear Pierre, I was just going to suggest similar thing, but not for rotation, but for lossless crop. But my suggestion is not for a preview window.
When I am going to crop an image, I first try it with a normal crop (not lossless) and then I undo it and go to lossless crop. However, the selection frame disappear after undo and I have to select it again, which is difficult to make exactly the same way.
Could it be possible that the selection frame remains on the image after undo? It would help a lot!
Thanks!

:) Well, I think it's easier to remove it just with a mouse click than to make exactly the same selection again! I just suppose it's the easiest way to preview the result of lossless crop (which is always final, without undo).

well, as i saw a lot of people working with computer and especially graphics-viewer, i can tell you, that nothing is as simple as it seems 8-)
the simplest story is the common confusion of right and left :-) tell anybody to click left, and he will click right.

but one of the important reason for a preview (for me) is, that i'd like to "see" the result before clicking "go".
we have a lot of pictures, which don't really make any sense in any direction, but some of them look "better" if rotated left and not right (or vice versa)
so a preview could save some time/cpu/undo steps, because the user can see the result before.
