Catalog view not showing all thumbnails (anymore

Hi,

I was playing a bit with XnView on my mac and i have a bunch of files all with thumbnails and with categories and some other markers like labels and comments and it all worked fine until in my categories view some files don't show a thumbnail anymore and the con't open in the preview window or full picture view. It works fine if i go to these files in folder view so I am not sure what went wrong or how to fix it.

Any idea how to solve this?

I am using XnView MP on my max.

I did notice that some menu options start greying out randomly like about and preference.

you have this problem only on some files? special folder?

Yes only a small part of my images give this issue and they are all in one folder but mainly because i only use two folders and the folder without problems only has very few images.

I did try to move some "broken" files to a different folder to see if that helps but no the problem moves with it.

Not anymore, after the update all my stuff is gone so i gave up on XnView for now and switched to digiKam.

Same problem here.
On Sonoma it doesn't show preview thumbnails of pdfs anymore.
Nor does it show thumbnails of Affinity suite files, like .afdesign and .afphoto.
On Catalina it works fine.
Any help appreciated.

do you have enabled Settings>General>Display all file formats

I didn't have them checked. Oops!

But then it still doesn't read the .pdf nor .ai.
double clicking it says 'File can't be located!'
But if you drag it to the menu bar to open in an application it's fine.
It does show the creation dat but not in which folder it is.
I compared the settings with the older Mac - they are the same now.
On the older mac running Catalina everything is fine.
