Category assign automation

I have a large number of files in various categories in XnViewMP, and so far, I've been assigning them manually. I would like to automate this process. Specifically, I need to create categories and assign files from specific directories. For example, I have files in the path D:\files\project_01\client_in, and I would like to create a category "project_01" and a subcategory "client_in," where I can automatically place all files from this folder. Is there a way to script this? I'm also curious about where the category information in XnViewMP is stored. I assume there's a text file that XnView reads, containing information about existing categories and the files assigned to them. Thank you for any advice or assistance.
