Category tags are not sticking

Hi,

When I save my XnView.db catalogue to an external hard-drive, category tags are not being saved to the images. They disappear as soon as I click off the image. This is not a problem when the catalogue is saved onto my local drive.

In settings, metadata I have the following tagged:

- Import XMP subject or IPTC keyword to Catalogs categories
- Export catalogs category to xmp subject and iptc keyword
- create xmp data
- write categories into images as hierachical keywords

Any help would be appreciated.

So categories are stored in the file itself not only catalog, right?
