v1.6.4 - Crop size issues

Post by phaolo »

XnView: MP v1.6.4 x64
OS: Windows7 x64

Preview mode - Crop size

The are some issues with this feature (existing since many versions).
- ratio sizes are swapped (e.g: 16:9 creates a 9:16 selection)
- pixel sizes don't show in the button when selected (they reset to Free)

Effect: you need to always double-check cropping, because you never know what you'll get (expecially when scrolling images to crop)

To reproduce:
1. select an image in browse view
2. Edit -> Crop
3. (if they weren't defaults, create two crop ratios 0.56 9:16 and 1.78 16:9 for this example)
4. select a ratio size from the view, e.g. 0.56 9:16 (vertical)
5. create the selection on the image and notice it's already wrong (it behaves like an horizontal 16:9)
6. try 1.78 16:9 and see it behaves like a 9:16

7. select a pixel size, e.g 1280x720
8. notice that the button resets to "Free" (the selection seems correct instead, but this is confusing and creates issues)

Actual behaviour (bug): ratio sizes create swapped selection sizes. Pixel sizes reset to Free in the button.
Expected behaviour: ratio sizes should create correct selection sizes. Pixel sizes should not reset to Free in the button.

Any size just big enough to see the crop selection.
