If the folder bar is displayed and there are a lot of folders with a lot of images, then it takes an extremely long time to gain access via the network (XnviewMP hangs). As soon as the data has been read once (in the cache?), there is no more delay in access.
I have generally created a database. It seems as if XnviewMP "searches / synchronizes" all folders despite the database.
Is there a way to optimize or prevent this?

Re: Network access many folders extremely slow
It is much faster in Windows Explorer. However, I suspect that it is due to Windows, as I already have an extremely large number of files and the data is on a Raid6 with hard disks.
1st solution:
I have simply set the necessary folders as favorites and always start XnviewMP with the favorites bar.
2nd solution: I have since defined an NVME in my NAS as a cache.
Thanks for the great program and best regards!
