I kind of have two questions.
For context, I recently took up a project and I'm using gallery-dl to download from pixiv and various *booru sites. When using gallery-dl it also saves all the "tags" (categories) as a text file per image. I then use exiftool to automatically write all these tags to the XMP & IPTC data as Keywords. I believe it's set up to list them all separated by comma, but I think I can tweak it so each keyword is it's own line.
Is it possible for XnView MP to automatically create categories, and then assign these categories to the images? And if so, does the Quick Filter also filter categories? Ideally I'm hoping that If I type in "White hair" it will filter to show all the pictures that contain the category/keyword/"tag" of "White hair"
Create & Assign categories from metadata? Quick Filter categories possible?

Either from the text file or the images themselves from the XMP metadata for "keywords" (ideally the images directly)
This is what it looks like when I go to edit the XMP information. I'm pretty new to all this, only learned yesterday what XMP metadata even is lol.

If 'Settings>Metadata>Read keywords as categories' is enabled, categories will be added in catalog

Oh, much easier than I expected. Been having to do everything the hard way for the rest of this project, I'm glad this was the easiest step lol.xnview wrote: Wed Jun 05, 2024 6:41 am If 'Settings>Metadata>Read keywords as categories' is enabled, categories will be added in catalog
