XnViewMP on opensusue Leap 15.5
I have 32 images of the same subject. I have entered some XMP descriptions with the first image and I'd like to apply the same XMPs to the other images of the serie.
How can I do that?
Thanks

Hi,
There may be simpler ...
In the XMP editor, you can save a template with the data from the first image and load this template on the other images.

Yes. I have setup my basic template, but it doesn't include the description and the other info specific to that serie.Franky wrote: Sun Jun 16, 2024 4:02 pm Hi,

No. Since most of my images are series I would end up with thousand of templates...
Or create a temporary template to paste on others but it's more time consuming and I'd like to avoid that if possible.
Re: How to copy xmp data
Select a set of pictures where one of them has the right xmp data . (perhaps easier if it's the first one selected)
Metadata>Edit Xmp
use < and > keys , then you can see the xmp description of the first picture, ( even if the very last option "do not load field values" is enabled )
> Write all
But be careful, at first try out a small number of photos and check that other xmp data, if any, are not overwritten.
This way, all the xmp data of the displayed image will be written to all the others.
You may want to remove the "update or create iptc" option first.

Where is it? I don't see that option (I'm used to not seeing things since I'm an older married man)michel038 wrote: Sun Jun 16, 2024 9:48 pm You may want to remove the "update or create iptc" option first.
Re: How to copy xmp data
"Edit xmp" window, options tab, "mode" drop down menu...
Personally, I keep iptc and xmp data synchronized, because in some xnviewmp menus, only iptc data is available, as in other softwares.
(Quick search for example doesn't read xmp fields)
