Missing webp since 1.8.0 on Linux Debian 11 (.deb) [Solved]

Post by postcd »

Hello,

I have found that I can no longer view, export and batch convert into a WebP format since around 1.8.0 64bit MP
The changelog for this version (which i am having and installing as a .deb file on Debian 11) shows LibWebP 1.4.0 - https://www.xnview.com/mantisbt/view.php?id=3300

Help / About / Plugins shows libwebp.so
ls -A1 /opt/XnView/Plugins|grep webp
libwebpdecoder.so
libwebpdecoder.so.3
libwebpdecoder.so.3.1.9
libwebpdemux.so
libwebpdemux.so.2
libwebpdemux.so.2.0.14
libwebpmux.so
libwebpmux.so.3
libwebpmux.so.3.1.0
libwebp.so
libwebp.so.7
libwebp.so.7.1.9

Other image viewer view/export webp fine. (XNViewMP did too, but in previous versions)

What to do please?

Linux user, .deb package. Use private services like Proton.me, not surveillance services like Google, Meta.

Indeed. Thanks for very fast fixing! 👍
Incredible file size savings: 3000x2000px (6Mp) 4MB file converted to a 300kB webp and I am unable to spot the difference in image quality! Very good.
