The program prompts you to save changes to a file that has not been modified.
After moving a file to another folder in Browser and then closing the program window, a dialog box appears to save changes in the file, although no changes have been made by the user. It is impossible to close the program window, it can be done only by clicking “Don't save”.

"open image" - Maybe I don't understand something, but I have an error when I move a file (thumbnail) in the Browser, the image itself was not open in the program at that moment. The problem is most likely that the program perceives moving a file from one directory to another as changing it. As far as I remember, previous versions did not have this error.

try to reproduce with default settings - rename xnview.ini and run app
Re: 1.8.2 - Error with the dialog box for saving changes in a file in Browser
Thanks for the advice. I renamed my xnview.ini and ran 1.8.2. On default settings this error is not present. On the 1.8.1 portable everything also works fine. It turns out that the error occurs exactly when transferring settings from 1.8.1 portable to 1.8.2 portable.user0 wrote: Sat Oct 26, 2024 7:15 pm try to reproduce with default settings - rename xnview.ini and run app
But then how can I transfer my settings (xnview.ini) between portable versions of the program?

you may try to locate the issue string by comparing old and new xnview.ini files ORadrem85 wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2024 1:29 pm But then how can I transfer my settings (xnview.ini) between portable versions of the program?
just delete [Browser] section (guess problem is there) and recreate settings manually later

Thanks, that's understandable. What about this thread - will the moderators delete it (I don't see an option to delete it)?user0 wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2024 3:43 pm you may try to locate the issue string by comparing old and new xnview.ini files OR
