Subject: 1.8.2 - Write HEIC Rating to DB / File
XnView: MP 1.8.2 - 64 bit
OS: Windows 64bit
Set Rating on HEIC Pictures (I use ctrl-numpadnumbers shortcut) are not persisted neither in app DB nor in file (with activate XMP export)
Effect: If I rate a HEIC picture, file does not change. Rating is shown in XnView UI while its running, but after a app restart rating is lost.
FYI: On jpeg rating is still working fine both app db & XMP file persistence.
To reproduce:
1. Activate XMP Export of Ratings in Settings
2. Rate a HEIC picture
3. Confirm Rating is shown in UI (it is on my system, until i restart app)
4. Check if picture filesize changed (i did not on my system)
5. Restart XNView, check if rating is still visible (its not on my system)
Actual behaviour (bug): Set Ratings on HEIC files disapear after app restart and are not written to XMP (although activated in settings).
Expected behaviour: Ratings on HEIC files should be persisted between app restarts and should (if activated in settings) be written to XMP section of picture files.

currently you can't edit lossless metadatas for a heic file.
But it's strange that rating in catalog is not kept, i've tried and rating is stored correctly in DB

Re: 1.8.2 - Write HEIC Rating to DB / File
Hi,
I tested 3 more times.
Once persisting in DB failed.
2 times it worked.
In noticed on the failed attempt I had another XnView instance running with a folder open from a network share.
So persistence to DB might have been a user issue?
But on writing ratings to HEIC XMP: This is not intended to work / will not be fixed or implemented?
