I am not sure if this is a bug or a feature which is too hard to fix but here is a report anyway (Windows 11, 1.8.3 and 1.8.4)
- open a video with XNView MP in Viewer window
- right click somewhere in the window.
- observed behaviour: instead of XNView MP context menu you see context menu of video playback library/plugin with options such as "show playbar", "extract current frame" , "Save frame as".
While this is probably planned when right clicking the video and most default context menu items are not relevant (and greyed out) for video people can customize the context menu. E.g. I have following options in context menu which I need even for videos:
- Open With (which has inside ffmpeg commands that do 90 degree video rotation)
- Open in file explorer
- Settings...
Easiest solution is probably to modify so that when you right click black empty area around the video you get XNView MP context menu but when you right click the video are you get library/plugin context menu.
