Thumbnail label missing after saving edit

I add keywords(Ctrl + i) after importing and sorting my photos. A little label appears on the thumbnail in the Browser to indicated that I have added keywords. But if I edit a photo and then save it the little label is not on the edited photo but when I check, the keywords are still saved in IPTC and XMP. What am I doing wrong?
(Windows 10 Home 22H2 and XnView MP 1.8.6.)

I have Keep IPTC and Keep XMP checked in the Save settings.

The thumbnail on the right is the original and the one on the left is the saved edited copy.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.8.7. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
