Mac Sequoya 15.3.1
About playing videos, the following has been mentioned to enable playing videos by pressing the Space bar:
Go to Interface > Keyboard > and in the Space drop-down menu choose Do Nothing.
I did that, quit the program and started it again, and as a result:
1. When I click on the video it opens and I can not start the video by pressing the space bar, but
2. Once the video is started with the click of the mouse, then I can use the spacebar to stop it or start it.
Is there a way to configure it this way so when the video is opened, then I can use the spacebar to start it?
Thank you.

Great you can identify the problem.
Can you give a timeline when the feature will be implemented? it is definitely no rush and something that doesn't affect my workflow, but knowing when it can be fixed would be just nice.
Thanks for a great product, really enjoy XnView.
P.S. If there is a keyboard shortcut to start playing video when it is opened in the viewer, please let me know.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.8.7. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

Re: Starting videos with the spacebar
I’ve dealt with similar spacebar playback quirks in a couple of other viewers, and one workaround that helped was using custom keyboard shortcut mapping tools, definitely not ideal, but it got the job done until devs pushed an update. I prefer using apps that already have good default navigation settings, though.
For working with large TIFF image previews or if you ever need to convert those into lighter formats while keeping the quality, I’ve had pretty smooth experiences using this https://www.movavi.com/image-converter/tiff-converter.html converter online. No install needed, and it’s pretty reliable when working between formats.
