Currently XnView MP actively loads all image thumbnails of the folder. If a folder contains thousands of images, the memory pressure is quite big.
Could you add an option to load only the thumbnails of all visible files?

Thanks for the info.user0 wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 11:41 am uncheck Create thumbnails for whole folder (Settings > Thumbnails)
I really didn't get the meaning of "Create thumbnails for the whole folder".
After unchecking it, not all thumbnails are loaded when the startup or changing to a new folder, but when I scroll the file list page by page, all thumbnails are still loaded. What I meant by the first post in this thread is: only the thumbnails of the visible part of the file list are loaded, other thumbnails should not be loaded, and, should be unloaded when they are not visible in the file list, to prevent excessive memory usage.
