Copying (parts of) image in XnView causes KDE to freeze after closing XnView

Hi,

I encounter the following reproducible behaviour that I think is caused by something in XnView MP:

When I open an image with XnView, select a part of that image and copy it (Ctrl + C), then close XnView, KDE Plasma freezes for a couple seconds. Usually I am in Dolphin in a folder with image files and I immediately notice I can't select another file. Plasma always unfreezes after a couple seconds.

This happens in 100% of the cases where I copied something, sometimes also when I just used XnView to look at images. Therefore I am not sure if it is related to the clipboard. However, the content of the clipboard is gone after I closed XnView.

The images are of normal size (less than 5 MB JPG).

I cannot reproduce this behaviour on the same system with another image viewer so I guess XnView does something or doesn't do something that is causing this, but unfortunately, I don't really know what to check. I'm happy to help figure it out if you have any suggestions where to investigate and I appreciate any help.

This is XnViewMP 1.8.6 on SteamOS, which is based on Arch Linux.

It also doesn't matter how much time passes after the copying. The freezing always happens immediately after closing XnView / while XnView is closing.

Addition: There is another circumstance that I can reproduce that might help.

1. Open XnView with an image and copy something
2. Open a second XnView with another image
3. Close the second XnView
4. KDE Plasma will freeze
5. Close the first XnView where you copied something
6. The freeze will not occur again

I'd like to add an update. I get the freeze very frequently now. Copying etc is no longer necessary. It doesn't occur always, but more than half of the time when I close XnView the freeze occurs. I also confirmed that this is not specific to the Flatpak, it also happens with the package from the AUR natively installed.

This issue is still relevant. I checked the journal to figure out if it is related to something else. The last entry suggests that no, it is XnView eating up my system.

I should probably mention that this is a system using X11.

The last version of SteamOS I used says:

I have meanwhile switched to pure Arch. The log message I posted occured on Arch. I use KDE Plasma, X11 and KWin, with KDE Plasma 6.7.5 and KDE Frameworks 6.30.0. Qt Version is 6.11.2.

I have tried on Manjaro 26 (KDE Plasma, X11), & XnView 1.12.1. I open an image file, copy, quit and no lock
