version 1.9.0: Filelist Toolbar doesn't integrate most changes made in settings

Post by KLE-France »

XnView: MP 1.9.0 - 64 bit
OS: Windows 64 bit

Updating to version 1.9.0 changed my Filelist Toolbar setup, and making changes at Tools > Settings > Browser > Toolbar does not change the toolbar itself, with the exception of "Favorites" and "Quick search", even after restarting.

To reproduce:
1. Update to 1.9.0
2. Activate the Filelist toolbar; it will be at its most basic setup (back, forward, up, address bar, new folder, rename, delete)
3. Go to Tools > Settings > Browser > Toolbar, check "Favorites", click OK, click OK on the "please restart" dialog; the Favorites tool will appear even before restarting.
4. Go to Tools > Settings > Browser > Toolbar, check "Quick search", click OK, click OK on the "please restart" dialog; the Quick [filter] tool will appear even before restarting.
5. Go to Tools > Settings > Browser > Toolbar, check "Sort", click OK, click OK on the "please restart" dialog; the Sort tool will not appear even after restarting.
6. Continue as above for the other toolbar choices (Filter, Rating, etc.); the tools will not appear even after restarting.

Actual behavior (bug): Updating version changes Filelist Toolbar setup, and trying to reset it does not work entirely.

Expected behavior: Updating version should not change Filelist Toolbar setup, but should that happen, resetting it as needed should work.

Hope that makes sense and thanks in advance!

Ah... I see...

I suppose that change is explained by the post User0 linked to?

I'm very conscious of the fact that there's no way to satisfy everyone, but that means that Filelist toolbar tools are now on ... 2 different toolbars.

The only reason I use the File list toolbar at all (it's already on a button to turn it on only when I need it) is for the rating function, which is now on the bottom bar. So, the top bar is just useless clutter now in my otherwise lean, mean, fighting machine XnView setup.

So, my question: is there any way to have just the bottom bar active? Mes excuses if it's something I haven't discovered yet.

Thanks I'm advance for any info.

Edit: I saw the Little bar trick on the other post and haven't tried it yet. But that the tool is on the bottom isn't a problem if I can deactivate the top bar.
