Understanding EXIF Orientation

Post by Tamaleus »

Sorry, I'm quite lost. I have been told that some of my pics either don't have, or have incorrect (EXIF-) Orientation. Before correcting that, i would love to understand the problem. That's why I'd like to ask: Where to find Info about "(EXIF-) Orientation?

I like XnViewMP (Ver 1.9.2 - 64) a lot, however I am not Image-Prof. And very often I read Forum Entries (also outside Xn-Forum) where to find Info about Orientation. But some of Explanations are old, it's not possible to follow them any longer. So, I hope, I did not overlook existing Info where to find "all about (EXIF-) Orientation", even if it's missing at all.

Tks and best rgds, Tamaleus

Sorry for late Reply.
As described in my first Entry, I woould like to know: Where to find Info about "(EXIF-) Orientation"?
You've sent me Tip, that some of my Images "... dont have an EXIF orientation field". This is what I wanted to check or find in the Image, so I could check out that for further Images I am not aware yet.
Hope, this clears any Confusion!?
Tks + Rgds
