Add tab AVIF to Export window
I like to use the Export function, and I miss the ability to export images to AVIF format.
Please add this feature.

I repeat my request.
In January, EDGE finally started supporting the AVIF format. It may soon replace the WebP codec on web pages and it would be good if AVIF will be added to the Export file function.

Re: Add tab AVIF to Export window
AVIF images are becoming increasingly popular frequent on websites. It must be the file size compression.
Whenever I download any AVIF to my phone I always feel the need to convert to good ol' fashion JPG
Could AVIF be the new WebP ? Hmmm

Re: Add tab AVIF to Export window
I hope it will be JpegXL format, but first Google must add it to Chrome - don't do it because JXL is too much good

Re: Add tab AVIF to Export window
I also hope that the main format will be JPEG-XL, which is also backwards compatible with JPG and shows better compression and quality for large photos than AVIF. Google is trying to artificially push the competition against its format. Hopefully it won't turn out like it used to with MP3, when OGG had better parameters, but they pushed another format with license fees.
Apple has also added new JPEG-XL support to systems and all of its products. And I personally don't let Google control me. So please add support for working with EXIF for JPEG-XL in the new version of XNViewMP.

+1 also on JPEG-XL
With JXL, I find myself using the min/max color quantizer, the speed and the sharpening setting usually. So a setting for those would be good among others like chroma sub-sampling (YUV format). Also the ability to strip metadata like XMP.

Re: Add tab AVIF to Export window
I am happy that JPEG XL is there (I consider it in general the better format), but AVIF should be there as well. Why?
- if you want to make as small web site as possible right now (and not in 3-5 years when hopefully JXL encoders would be in all browsers) AVIF is the only alternative. All modern browsers support it and e.g. high traffic news sites have started to using AVIF images.
- When going to very high compression ratios / small file sizes AVIF looks sometimes better than JXL
- In future embedded devices or very small resource apps whose main purpose is to show video material and thus AV1 is only sensible choice I can see why developer might support AVIF and not JXL (because they must support AV1 and AVIF comes as "free bundle").
