Set Photo Ratings via Command Line

Is ii possible to add command line support for setting rating and color of photos?
For example:

The user scenario involves assigning a rating (color/category) to a photo while browsing it in a file manager (e.g., Total Commander or similar). i.e.outside of XnViewMP.
