Default file icons do not appear [Solved]

Post by Orfanomondo »

Hi,
This is a very minor matter and does not affect my use of MP in any way, however, the default file icons (which I like very much) do not appear. I have Windows 11 and XnView MP 1.9.3. The default icons are all there in the FileIcons folder, as they should be, I just cannot see them. For all file types in the Browser, jpg, gif, png, mp4 etc. there is just a sort of generic white-and-blue icon, the same for every file, which does not appear in the FileIcons folder. Did I accidentally change something in the Settings?

Thank you very much. I did #2 Set file associations, changed all photo files to XnView MP, and that did the trick.
I was unable to do your #1 solution. I ran MP as an administrator, but Settings did not allow me to do anything about file associations.
However, the simpler trick worked.
