1.9.4: Screenshot.jxl cannot be opened or are distorted on Linux

Post by shitori »

Reproduced with XnView MP 1.9.4 on Linux.

When opening JXL screenshots, there is an issue where they cannot be opened or become distorted in XnView MP on Linux.

For testing purposes, I have prepared the following two images.
These are screenshots taken on each OS and encoded from PNG into JXL using cjxl.
test-images.zip
(465.68 KiB) Downloaded 583 times
Since jxl cannot be attached, I attached it as jpeg here.
The test jxl images are included in the zip file.

Launch XnView MP on Linux.
First open windows.jxl, then linux.jxl.

Restart XnView MP on Linux.
First open linux.jxl, then windows.jxl.

If windows.jxl is opened first, then linux.jxl cannot be opened.
If linux.jxl is opened first, then windows.jxl is distorted.
This issue is determined by which image you open first.

This bug does not occur on Windows and MacOS.
For Linux, I checked NixOS and Debian.
