Move picture with mouse

Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i Aura, Win 11, XnView v2.52.2

I have a folder full of pictures and when I try to sort them by dragging using the mouse, it simply makes a copy.
I can drag the thumbnail to a new folder but not to a new position within the folder.
Is there a way to enable this?
