- Place several images and at least one video in the catalog;
- Set the "Startup - Open - Viewer - Full Screen" setting;
- Open any image in Full Screen mode;
- Scroll to the video (it should start playing);
- Then scroll back to the first (or any) image.
- Try opening the context menu (right mouse button).
Program is not responding, and the menu does not appear. If I exit Full Screen mode and return to normal mode, the context menu begins to function.
I tried both enabling and disabling the autoplay and looping options, but the problem persists. It seems that this error occurs when browsing in Full Screen mode during the transition from video to image. If there are no videos in the folder (only images), the context menu works fine.
Most likely, this problem also exists in previous versions. Windows 11, XnViewMP 1.9.8 portable with standard settings (just downloaded).

Thank you for trying to reproduce this rather complex sequence of actions. I think that due to the complexity of the process, you may have missed something or done something wrong. That's why I recorded this sequence of actions on video myself:

More details about what is happening in the video:
The video shows the unpacking of a newly downloaded program and its launch in a directory containing 2 videos and 3 images. After scrolling through the images in FS mode to the video and back, when switching from the video to the image, attempting to open the context menu on this image (which we opened immediately after the video) does nothing; the program simply does not respond to the right mouse click, which is clearly visible in this video, as it also records mouse clicks (diverging blue circles).
This video shows that the context menu works normally in normal mode and does not work at all in FS mode, provided that this happens specifically in FS and specifically when the directory contains not only images but also videos.
What's more, I've now also noticed that after trying to call up the context menu in FS mode, scrolling through files (with the mouse wheel) also stops working. In other words, the program stops responding not only to right-clicks, but also to scrolling with the mouse wheel. The only solution is to switch to normal mode.

Re: 1.9.8 - Problem with context menu in Full Screen
not only blink, but it looks like previous "frame" is shown until you click mouse 2nd time - videoxnview wrote: Mon Dec 08, 2025 7:13 am there is a blink after showing video when opening context menu
(Bandicam has some delay after blink, which makes them feel longer), also:
- OBS does not record context menus
- windows Snipping tool magically heals this issue - no any blinking/wrong context menus when recording screen
ps. win11, i5 13600K (UHD Graphics 770, video driver 32.0.101.7026), no dedicated GPU
Re: 1.9.8 - Problem with context menu in Full Screen
You have strange files in the test, only numbers on a white and black screen. Which of these is a video and which is an image is unclear. Can you record regular image and video files?
But if you have a context menu in Full Screen after scrolling through the video and back to the image, then we have completely contradictory results... Perhaps it somehow depends on the settings of the graphics card or even the OS?

Yes sometimes, it's a known issue in QT

Okay, it's not such a serious bug that it's worth spending a lot of time on. Besides, it seems to only happen to me.
