Problem with different DPI monitors scale

Post by bartek_zgo »

XnView version: 1.95.5 64bit Windows 11
I have 2 monitors. Main one scale 100% secondary (laptop's) scale 250%.
When I start XnView the fonts are huge. No matter if I open the app and close on main on secondary monitor.

I've modified Windows Properties and set "Override high DPI scaling behaviour" to "Application" and restart the computer.
That has fixed 90% of font size except file names under thumbnails in browser tab.

I didn't have this issues with some old version of xnview on my previous computer (Windows 10) and secondary monitor scale set to 150%.

To be honest, I lost a lot of time to find the option "Override high DPI scaling behavior". It was very frustrating.

The dual-monitor/DPI scaling issues are such a headache, especially with Windows 11. It's useful that you found the "Override high DPI scaling behavior" setting, as that's often the last resort fix when apps won't respect the scaling correctly.
It's a bummer the file names under the thumbnails are still affected, but getting 90% fixed is a win.
