Conversion to JPEG-li always defaults to 96 dpi

Post by afx »

XnView version: 1.9.8 64bit Windows 11

Hi folks!

When converting apparently any picture (e.g. PNG, BMP, TIFF) to JPEG using JPEG-li (not the regular JPEG mode though), the original resolution won't be transferred and the resulting JPEG file always has its resolution set to 96 dpi (the common "default" value).

This behavior is independent of any other parameters (like "Progressive", "Optimize Huffman table" etc.), at least as far as I have observed. It doesn't matter either whether you use the "File --> Export..." pathway or you're doing a batch conversion.

I've attached a picture called "Blue rectangle" (both as a PNG with a resolution of 300 dpi and a faulty JPEG with 96 dpi) as an example.

Just in case this bug has already been reported: I searched the bug reports for relevant threads but wasn't able to find any.

Thank you.
