Hello!
i told XnView to fit the image/window to the desktop, so when i open a very tall image, the xnview window is as tall as the desktop and the image can be looked at totally, without missing pixels, just a bit smaller (zoomed-out). now when i press "+" to zoom-in (to look at image details), the xnview window just remains in place, only the image inside is zoomed. other imageviewers also adjust their application window in this scenario. for example when i have a tall window that fits the desktop height, zooming in would result in a application window that is still as high as the desktop, but also become much wider.

Just two keys?

- What about pressing the Num * key? This reset the display to the scale 1:1 for the current image, even if you chose "Fit image to window, all"
- You can switch back to this mode using Num /
BTW : German is not an usual allowed language here, especially this night since I don't see any other German Member¦Team Member around…
- However : Fröhliche Weihnachten !

bonjour monsieur Clo....
but i think you got me wrong. here i made three screenshots to visualize the problem:
1. it shows the picture at 100%, it already takes full desktop height. Xnview and other viwers (slowview) show it the same way.

2. i zoomed in at 300%. now look what Xnview does. its window borders remain the same as in 100% only the picture inside is scaled. this is not good.

3. this is also zoomed at 300% but with another imageviewer (Slowview). when i zoom it, the app automaticaly uses the former useless space on the sides to make the zooming very efficient. thats good!

your hint to press the num * button only takes me from image 2) to image 1). any other idea?
au revoir

{ Aside : pretty girl on your screen shots… }
- Sorry, I don't get the same here : if I zoom in a pic by 300%, I get the blown up pic in both dimensions H¦W, while I have set (usually) "Fit image to window, all".
- The same in Full screen, I don't see any issue here…

you must be a magic wizard, because i now clicked and unclicked every option there is in xnview and i dont get this effect. are you really sure about this? when you select "fit image to window", how can the window be resized when zooming?? this is unlogical, because that option means the window is fixed and only the image is altered.
aaaaaargh.. is there a way to copy your settings to my ordinateur (:)

if anyone has xnview configured the way i described above and is willing to send me his config file, please do so to: bundeskanzler@bk.ru thanksckit wrote:Clo, email him your INI file.
first of all, thank you Claude for sending me your .ini, sadly it didnt work
ok maybe i didnt explain that feature im looking for good enough. please look at my screenshots from above once more.
- 1) you see an image openend by Xnview.
- now i press 3 times the PLUS button
- and i get the screenshot at 2)
thats not very comfortable. im looking at something like this:
- 1) you see an image openend by Xnview.
- now i press 3 times the PLUS button
- and i get the screenshot at 3)
the trick Claude used was to start xnview always in maximzed mode, so when i press PLUS, the images borders are adjustes correctly (like i want it to). but the bad thing is that it always stays in maximzed mode, even when the openend picture is very small.
maybe that feature is not available in xnview, i dont know, thats why im asking in this nice forum!
adieu messieurs
