Creating new XMP side-car causes file list to deselect

When rating images (this case cr2 raw files) or other actions that require the creation of a side-car file (XMP) and <settings>'show companion files' unchecked & <settings>'Auto-select new files' checked, the file list deselects because the new file is hidden. This in effect makes you go back to the top of the list when using arrow keys. 'Auto-select new files' should not apply to hidden files. Unchecking 'Auto-select new files' fixes it but you can't use it if you also need to use side-cars.
