Could the names be reversed?

Post by SoCu »

Hi, I'm looking at the properties of some photos, where the Creation Date/Time and Modification Date/Time are displayed.

Could those texts, or the values shown, be reversed?

Because the creation date of that photo was in 2024, and when I copied it from one drive to another it was today, 2026.

And the values in those fields seem to be reversed.

Thanks.

On Windows, the "create date" is always the date when the file was written in it's current place.
When a file is copied or moved, the new creation date is the current date.

"Modification date" is the date when the content of the file was modified, eg when it was created by a camera or a software.

Exif "date digitized" ore "date time original" are often stronger because Windows (or other OS) won't modify them
