Once image markers are selected, they cannot be deselected
After selecting image markers, whether individual or all are selected, the deselection button cannot be pressed in the editing bar; it can only be done using the space bar.
PS v1.10.5 win
PS v1.10.5 win

Re: Once image markers are selected, they cannot be deselected
I have no idea what OP is talking about, but there is some issue with deselection:
1.10.5 - browser - filelist - disabled 'Select none'
1.10.5 - browser - filelist - disabled 'Select none'

Don't complicate a simple problem. I mean, after selecting the top left corner of the thumbnail, it cannot be canceled normally.user0 wrote: Mon Mar 23, 2026 4:54 am I have no idea what OP is talking about, but deselection is not available in the following case:
0. open folder with subfolders and files in Browser
1. press 'Select all files'
files are selected
2. press 'Invert selection'
subfolders are selected
'Select none' is disabled

Re: Once image markers are selected, they cannot be deselected
The problem is that the Edit menu cannot deselect all checkboxes, because you have to click "Select All" each time to check and deselect them.
This is likely not a bug but an operational defect.

Re: Once image markers are selected, they cannot be deselected
Maybe part of the difficulty here is your wording. Are you using a translator? Because "Editing Bar" and "deselection button" have no valid meaning in this context. Also, "Select" and "Check" are very different things, as are "deselect" and "uncheck".
If you want to "deselect all checkboxes" does that mean UNCHECK them?? Then use the "Clear all checks" toolbar button. This would be said as "uncheck all checkboxes" not "deselect" them.
There is also a "Check/uncheck" toolbar button to be used in conjunction with the "Edit->Select Checked Files" command.

Re: Once image markers are selected, they cannot be deselected
Thank you for your explanation. You're right. The problem was caused by an error in the program's translation section, which prevented me from finding the issue. After switching the settings from Traditional Chinese to English, I found the relevant deselection option in Metadata instead of Edit, and the problem was solved.jkm wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2026 9:23 pm Maybe part of the difficulty here is your wording. P.S. In previous versions, the Chinese-English language translation has always been incomplete, making it difficult to use.

There are too many to list (see part), please conduct a comprehensive review of the Chinese translation and word choice.

Comprehensive review with who? He needs a Chinese speaker.alee001 wrote: Wed Mar 25, 2026 12:48 pm There are too many to list (see part), please conduct a comprehensive review of the Chinese translation and word choice.
This is rude and ungrateful, alee001.
It doesn't surprise me that the program's translation is imperfect. Maybe the Chinese translation is terrible; I have no idea. (Pierre is French; even the English translation is imperfect!) But he at least makes an effort to make the app available in 29 different languages. Many applications put out by a single developer don't offer more than one. And he offers it to you for free. So that's something to consider.
Maybe he should drop Chinese altogether if it's not usable.
If you think the Chinese translation is terrible, maybe you should actually contribute to the betterment of the community and submit a better translation to Pierre for him to incorporate.
Consider:
Someone has, for a long time, been giving you the benefit of their efforts, for free. They ask you for help with something that is difficult for them to do, but you can do better.
So what's the right thing to do?
1. Help
2. Complain they don't do more for you
It seems very simple to me...

I understand that translating into a non-native language presents certain difficulties, but there are many tools available for foreign language translation today. As a developer, this is not an excuse, especially for retail sales.
You are being too naive about this issue. The purpose of setting up a software discussion forum, besides allowing users to exchange ideas, is more importantly to bug fixes, suggestions, and improvements. Therefore, developers should be grateful for the contributions of users, not ignore their opinions.
If the software itself has many problems, is difficult to use, or even worse, even if it's free, users won't stay. They would have already abandoned it or switched to something else. Why would they waste time on a discussion forum?!
