I have just started using XnView MP on Linux Mint and I love it.
I have set custom rating shortcuts where I leave out the Ctrl key for rating images. So I have set 1 instead of Ctrl-1, etc.
These new shortcuts work fine in the file browser, but not in the viewer. The -old- Ctrl shortcuts DO work in viewer.

XnView MP 1.9.8 64-bit (Dec 4 2025) - Libformat 7.230 (Linux)

Re: Custom rating shortcuts don't work in viewer mode
Never mind. I found out that custom shortcuts are set for browser and viewer separately. Should have searched better.
Keep up the good work!

Re: Custom rating shortcuts don't work in viewer mode [Solved]
(i use windows)Hi, i think i have the same issue: while in viewer mode i set the rating with ctrl shortcut but i can't see them in the viewer and catalog then. So i get frustrated because i want to do the job quickly and use a single shortcut to apply the rating both to the viewer and browser simoultaneously. Thanks!
