XnView: MP 1.9.10 - 64-bit
OS: Windows 11 - 64-bit
When a folder is moved to its parent folder, the tree view is not updated.
Effect: The tree view does not display the moved folder.
To reproduce:
1. Press “F7” and create a folder called “Test.”
2. Double-click on this “Test” folder. The “Test” folder is now visible in the tree view.
3. Press “F7” and create a subfolder called “Folder1.”
4. Press “F7” and create a subfolder called “Folder2.”
5. Press “F7” and create a subfolder called “Folder3.”
6. Double-click on the “Folder1” folder. The folders “Folder1,” “Folder2,” and “Folder3” are visible in the tree view.
7. Copy four JPG files into this “Folder1” folder.
8. You now have three subfolders in the “Test” folder and four JPG files in “Folder1.”
9. Click on the “Folder1” folder in the tree view.
10. Press “F7” and create a subfolder called “Folder1a”.
11. Move the first JPG file into the “Folder1a” folder using the mouse.
12. Move the “Folder1a” folder with the mouse into the parent folder (green arrow).
13. The “Folder1a” folder should be displayed in the tree view, but nothing happens; the tree view is not updated.
14. Click on the “Test” folder in the tree view.
15. Press “F5” to refresh the tree view.
16. The “Folder1a” folder is now displayed correctly in the tree view.
Expected behavior: The “Folder1a” folder should be displayed in the “Test” folder after moving it into its parent folder.
Additional information: This still worked in version 1.9.5.

Re: 1.9.10: Tree view is not updated
Welcome to the forums...
You can find the latest versions posted in the MP-Announcements board.
1.10.3 is there, which is the version Pierre wants you to try.
viewtopic.php?t=50407
If you still have problems, I suggest you simplify and clarify your procedure.
There are folders that are created (Folder2, Folder3) that are never referenced again, so seem irrelevant.
Right away in step 2, there is a discrepancy between what I see and what you write...
You say the "folder is now visible" as if it weren't visible in the tree before you double-clicked on it.
But in both 1.9.10 and 1.10.3, I see the folder become visible in the tree instantly when F7 is hit.
So some simplification and clarification might help if your problem is to be reproduced.

Re: 1.9.10: Tree view is not updated
Good evening.
I'm now using version 1.10.5, but it still isn't working.
I tried to simplify the problem earlier, but I could only reproduce it when I had Folder2 and Folder3.
OK, in step 2, the word “now” isn't necessary. The Folder Test is displayed.
Anyway, were you unable to follow the steps up to step 16?
I’ve also recorded a video "Video 2026-03-31 210456.mp4" showing that the subfolders “2026-03-12a Fellhofer” and “2026-03-12b PGR” aren’t updated in folder “Import” when they’re moved to the parent folder.
The video is too large to attach (41MB), how can I send it?

Re: 1.9.10: Tree view is not updated
Hello, I also have the same issue..
Windows 11, XnView 1.9.10.5
Folders are on a network drive (SMB).
simple reproduction scenario:
0. Folder panel
1. Rename a folder in the tree view
2. The old folder name remains displayed in the tree view
3. Close and reopen XnView
4. The folder name is then displayed correctly in the tree view
Thank you in advance for your support.
