XnViewMP 1.11.2
Windows11 (25H2), display resolution 3840x2160, dpi scale 150%
Viewer - companion - audio
to reproduce
0. prerequisites
- add mp3 as companion to jpg in Settings
- have test files in folder
1. open 3.jpg in Viewer (from Browser or win file explorer)
2. press 'Play/Stop audio companion' in View menu
audo plays - OK
3. navigate to the 1st file and back to 3.jpg (or close Viewer, open 1.jpg and navigate to 3.jpg)
4. press 'Play/Stop audio companion' in View menu
nothing happens
5. open View menu
'Play/Stop audio companion' command is disabled
issue arises when more than one file precedes the accompanied pair, eg issue disappears if 1.jpg or 2.jpg is deleted
Suggestion
'Play/Stop audio companion' command stops playback, which is already achievable using the Esc key.
It would be better to replace it with a 'Play/Pause' functionality, aligning it with the 'Start/Stop animation' behavior, where playback is simply paused rather than fully stopped.

Re: 1.11.2 - viewer - companion - audio does not play
Confirmed. In the above example, "Auto Play audio companion files"=OFF.
With the setting ON, audio files automatically play (or not) correctly when navigating between files in the viewer, but after navigating away from a file without an audio companion, the Play/Stop command only works to Stop, not to Play.
