How can I create a new file in XNView, e.g. to paste a copied selection in, the equivalent of File/New in other programs ?

Hello ! Welcome aboard !

- You don't need to create an empty file prior. Just press Ctrl+Shift+V, you'll get the copied selection as a <Clipboard1> window; then, simply ask for “Save as…" to save it as a file with any supported picture format…
