I am on linux mint 22.3.
I am running 1.11.5 (Jun 29 2026) installed via mint software manager (flatpak).
I am running ext4.
I have been using this (awesome) app for several years, and performing these steps every day (checking and deleting security camera images), so i am very familiar with how it was working.
1. load xnViewMP, navigate to a folder with some images. In my case, It is a folder with subfolders and images. e.g.,
/home/john/Downloads/Camera1/2026-07-02/02hour/jpg (lots of jpgs)
/home/john/Downloads/Camera1/2026-07-02/02hour/mpg (lots of mpgs)
2. in the browser, highlight the 02hour folder and press the delete key (or right-click -> delete)
3. the 02hour folder disappears from the browser (it appears to be deleted)
NB. the folder and files are still on disk
4. refresh the browser and the folder will re-appear.
NB. If i delete the files in the folder via the browser, they do get deleted, it appears that trying to delete a folder is where the issue is.
Let me know if you need any further infomation.
Thank you,
John

Re: Delete problem since 1.11.5 upgrade
I did in that example, but any type of delete produces the same issue - highlight it in the folder list an press the delete button, or right-click -> delete.
or do the same in the main window. Any method of deleting the folder results in to just being removed from view, rather than actually being deleted.
I tried enabling the "Use recycle bin" and toggled the "Confirm file delete", just to see if that changed the behaviour, but there was no change - the folder is not actualy deleted.
I used inotifywait to watch the filesystem during a single file delete and a multiple file delete (see attached).
The single file delete (which does not complete successfully) doesn't show a delete, but the nultiple file deletion (selecting more than one file and pressing delete) shows a series of DELETE messages.
