The "Draw-Color Picker" selects colors into a secondary color slot instead of the currently used color slot, requiring manual switching of the color slot after each color picker application, which is unreasonable.

Eyedropper always sets Foreground color

try to reset your settings by renaming xnview.ini file

use shortcuts:
X - swap Foreground/Background colors
D - reset Foreground/Background colors to black&white


I would
- add 'I' shortcut to Eyedropper, like in Photoshop
- activate Eyedropper via Alt in Pen tool
