V1.0 (21) - Photo details - nice design, but smaller information areas

When I first saw XnView Mobile, I was really impressed by the photo detail view because the design and layout were so well done.
Still, it always bothered me that a few small details weren't quite perfect. Maybe other testers feel the same way.
The layout of the photo detail view isn't quite ideal, especially on tablets. It could also be a little better on smartphones.

1. Preview Picture - centered and cut:
In the Photo Detail view, a lot of space is lost to displayed text and graphical elements, which I personally find takes away from my ability to view and evaluate the actual image! The displayed image is centered and scaled to the maximum specified height. This is a real shame because important or crucial information is lost on the left and right sides of landscape-oriented images. In portrait orientation, it’s not quite as bad.

Is it possible to fit the whole picture in landscape and portrait view in screen?

2. Lower File informations area - double informations
When I open the lower file information pane, I see the file information presented in a nice tabular format.
It looks professional and well-organized. Still, I wonder if this is really necessary.
All the informations are already visible in the upper part of the display—except for a few details.
If it were up to me, we could do without that as well.

3. Photo informations area (File size, Picture size, Time, ISO, Aperture, etc.)
I really like the look of the display area for file size, image size, ISO, time, focal length, etc. However, I think it would be nice if the empty spaces above and below the text were made significantly narrower. That way, we could potentially gain a few more pixels for the actual image being displayed!

Regarding the question about what I think about appearance, I mostly disagree with colleague.
I agree that the 'Photo details' view is a fantastic idea and for those interested it gives the opportunity to see almost all information about the photo (I still don't see information about the color profile).

At 1. Preview Picture – centered and cut:
I understand cutting images, because here the main value is information about its parameters, and the image itself is illustrative. There is a different mode from viewing the photos in their entirety. Unfortunately, this works well in portrait mode. When I turned the phone over, I couldn't say it anymore. The photos adjust to the width, and from the height you can see maybe 10-15% of the photo. This looks terrible.
I think for landscape mode it will be better to make two columns: one with the photo and the other with the information. Additionally, the title definitely needs to be thinner because it takes up half of the phone's screen.

At 2. Lower File informations area – double informations
I think it is necessary to double that information – exatly for well-organized information.

At 3. Photo informations area
I work in the promotions department and have learned a thing or two about creating posters and websites. Without going into details, the space between information must be significant, among other things, because it is easier to read. Of course, we could think about a few pixels here or there, but it would probably be better to add the option, in which the choice would be "spatial" or "compact" appearance.

And since we are talking about appearance, in the future it would be good to provide the option to choose between several color styles the app.

@Kadet: I agree with Kadet on a few points. I find his description convincing.

I think the centered and cut picture is not the biggest disadvantage. Maybe we can show a little bit more of the picture with saving space in other areas. In Landscape mode of the smartphone/tablet the xnview app does not show much of the picture. The upper bars with photo details and lower file informations (aperture, ISO, time, etc.) overlay to much from the picture. This layout need a refresh.

At 2.) Double file information is only a small thing and can stay the way it is.

At 3.) You are right. The bigger text for EXIF data looks good and you directly see the important data of the picture. Your focus is directly on the photo and exif data.

if by default Photo+summary is shown (taken all space), and when scroll up, the metadatas appear?

Thank you for changing the photo detail area.
Now I can see the picture in bigger resolution.
For portrait photos it is a big advantage.
For landscape photos in portrait orientation it is a disadvantage, because you see less of the picture.

Landscape photos in landscape view have a small advantage.

I tell you my ideas later.
