Choose Folder thumbnails request

In the desktop version, XnViewMP uses the first four images in alphabetical order to represent the parent folder.
In the mobile version, it uses the four most recent images.
Could we standardize this behavior, or allow users to choose the criteria ?

In realme Gallery (Oppo software), I can select an image to display on the folder. It definitely would be nice if XnMobi could do that too.

I've noticed the same behavior before.
For me, the best option would be for XnView to select the thumbnails based on the folder's preset sort order.
That would mean that if the files are sorted by name, the folder thumbnails would also be selected based on the alphabetical order of the files inside the folder.

On the other hand, being able to choose my own thumbnail would be just as great. But that's not absolutely necessary for me right now.

I added a first "YYYY" photo in each of my folders...
This is the "Folders" view I wished, it's ok for me.

Sorry, but it doesn't work for me. I can't discover the key by which it shows the thumbnail on the folder. So for me it still doesn't work.
Besides, I would like to set the thumbnail myself with a maximum of two taps. Assuming that this is the first file of the alphabet, I would have to make copies of the photo and name it specially. Doable, but tiring.

Edit:
After a few tests, I already know that it gives the first image according to the alphabet, but only when something changes in the folder. Until then, it shows the previously memorized image.

I did some tests in the Test folder and the previously set file __cover.jpg stopped being a thumbnail of the Test folder.
This element of the application is still not properly supported.

In this folder I have files of different types for testing this application. After creating this "first" file, I recently did JPG and PNG conversions to test proper file comparison.
And one of these newly created files became a thumbnail.

So if understand, you had correct thumbnail with __cover.jpg, and after creating new files, one of them became a thumbnail?
