Thanks, will have to try the reinstall perhaps. I anyhow reversed the qt.conf to it's original sparse state after the experiments, as there weren't that many lines to begin with.jkm wrote: Sat Aug 29, 2026 6:56 pm Since this does not happen with a default configuration, perhaps you broke something by messing with qt.conf.
Delete your configuration files, or download a fresh copy of the app and have it store its configuration files in a different location.
If your installations are using "Current User" (or otherwise the same folder) to store configuration and settings, all copies of the app will use the same config and you won't correct the problem. You can check Settings:Integration:Paths to see where your installation is storing the configuration and settings files.
no, you need to remake your layoutimagineer wrote: Mon Aug 31, 2026 7:49 am Thanks, tried that but it broke the UI somehow, made the panels go to different positions than they were, yet the clutter was gone anyway, but I didn't like the overall changes. Any other ways to try and eliminate the clutter by tweaking the UI from settings alone?
I realized I had removed the tabs row from the above the menu bar in settings to have less empty, wasted space in the UI (I have only an HD screen), so that obviously pushed whatever the clutter is on top of the first menu titles on the left.
I see, thanks for the advice! Have to see whether I accept the tabs row back and play around a bit with the panels.xnview wrote: Mon Aug 31, 2026 8:16 amno, you need to remake your layoutimagineer wrote: Mon Aug 31, 2026 7:49 am Thanks, tried that but it broke the UI somehow, made the panels go to different positions than they were, yet the clutter was gone anyway, but I didn't like the overall changes.
