XnView MP hangs every time I change anything in settings

XnView MP hangs every time I change anything in settings.

For example, what is in my console when I just change the font of labels.



I installed XnView MP from AUR (Manjaro Linux)

In empty folder I can change labels' font and labels' text without problem.
Problem is when I do it in folder with pictures.

Okay. I checked two of my folders.

First is my home folder with large number of different files - text, documents, images, videos. Total 1271 files. And the app hangs when I try to change something in settings.

Second folder is a subfolder of home folder with smaller amount of content but also has images and videos. Total 302 files. But the app doesn't hang while changing its settings.

Could it be because in large folder the app can't create all thumbnails (I see unfinished progress bar at the bottom) of all files but in smaller one it can?

Try changing the filter to images only and see what happens.

I figured out something.
It depends on whether xnviewmp can create thumbnails of all files in a folder.
In folder where only images xnviewmp does not hang.
In folder where only videos xnviewmp does not hang.
But in folder where xnviewmp can not create thumbnails of some files (likely videos) it hangs while you change settings.
I think it depends on format of video in a folder.

The app just stops to create thumbnails and hangs.
To be honest I don't know why and when it stops and what caused this stop.
The app went up to 32% of all files and hangs.
You can see created thumbnails at the top and then it stops creating them.
It just hangs. You don't need to open Settings to change anything.

Now it stopped and hangs at 8% while creating thumbnails in the same folder

It’s choking on generating thumbnails for something. This sometimes happens for non-image files, when you don’t have them filtered out, and you have a lot of those in the directory.

Start with an empty directory. Then add the files of a single type (extension). When you get to the batch where it starts choking, then you can narrow it down to specific files.

Do you have AppImage of QT6 version?
I do not want to install the app to test it.
