Folder Thumbnails still show 4-image grid combination even after disabling it in Settings [Solved]

XnView MP Version: v1.11.5
OS: Windows 11

Description:
I am trying to change the folder thumbnails from the 4-image grid combination (layout) to a single image preview, but the change does not take effect no matter what I do.

Steps I have already tried (with no luck):
1) Went to Settings > File list (or Thumbnail) and unchecked the option "Folder: display 4 thumbnails (instead of 1)". Clicked OK to save.
2) Returned to the browser main view, selected the folders, and used the top menu View > Rebuild thumbnails to refresh.
3) Pressed F5 to refresh the view.
4) Restarted XnView MP.

Even after all these steps, the folders in the right-side Thumbnails View panel still stubbornly show the 4-image grid instead of a single image/folder.jpg preview.It seems like the setting is being ignored or the folder cache is permanently locked in the database. Could you please check if this is a bug in the current release or language pack?

I found that it only works in the current folder and not in other folders and subfolders. Do I have to check and update all folders and subfolders one by one for it to work?

After trying various options, I finally found the relevant setting. As shown in the image, changing it to "Location machine" applied to all folders.

The project description was unclear and even confusing; it was easy to mistake it for a bug simply by spending time trying it out – an unfriendly design.
