Hi all,
Two things on search (Tools > Search...):
1) The first time I use the search function in a given session, it is very slow. That first time, it is as if the search function is indexing every folder in my collection for the first time. So, this can take a good 15, 20 minutes. Thereafter, the search function is very rapid, as it has always been. BUT, close XnView MP, reopen it, and start searching again, bis repetita, that first search will be very slow again.
In the search window itself, "Search in" is set to Catalog, and only the "Search in subfolders" box is checked.
The catalog itself and "Enable thumbnail caching" are both enabled at Tools > Settings > Catalog, and the catalog is completely written in; it does already include all concerned folders.
Although I cannot pinpoint exactly when search started behaving this way, I do know that this issue was not present in the past, I did however recently reinstall XnView MP, after a system reset. Have I just forgot to set something somewhere with this new install?
2) Also, in the search function, there is a "Favorites" button for folders... but I see no way to actually set a folder as a favorite... How do you do that?
I did search for these two questions, found nothing pertinent, but suspect that this has surely already been asked. Sorry! And thanks in advance.
