XnView: MP 1.11.7 - 64 bit
OS: macOS 27.0 - 64 bit
After upgrading to macOS 27.0, XnView MP consistently fails to load images stored on a UGREEN NAS. The shared folder is mounted directly through Finder using SMB.
Most thumbnails appear in the browser, but opening affected images produces an error saying the image could not be loaded.
Effect: Images on the NAS cannot be viewed reliably in XnView MP.
To reproduce:
1. Connect to a UGREEN NAS through Finder using SMB.
2. Open a folder containing images on the mounted share in XnView MP.
3. Double-click an affected image to open it.
4. Repeat with other affected images.
Actual behaviour (bug): XnView MP consistently reports that the image could not be loaded, even when its thumbnail is visible. Opening affected images through Finder → Open With → XnView MP also fails.
Expected behaviour: Images should open consistently from the SMB share, as they did before upgrading to macOS 27.0.
Additional tests:
- Apple Preview opens the images directly from the same SMB share without problems.
- Copying an image to local storage allows XnView MP to open it successfully.
- XnView MP has Full Disk Access; this does not resolve the issue.
- Disabling both viewer cache options (“Read one image ahead” and “Keep current image”) and restarting XnView MP has no effect.
